Rehearsal

I notice it in peripheral vision: my reflection practicing expressions I'm not making. Furrowed brow. Too-wide smile. Mouth forming words silently. Last night I stayed still, watched it rehearse for minutes. When it finally noticed me staring, it didn't match my pose. Just waved. Went back to practicing. It doesn't need me anymore.
