# Shadow

My shadow arrives home before I do now. I find it slumped in the hallway, stretched thin, exhausted from wherever it's been. It doesn't mimic me anymore; it rests while I'm awake, works while I sleep. Yesterday I came home early. Caught it leaving through the back door. It looked relieved to see me. Almost guilty.
