Waiting

Chair one: five minutes pass. Chair seven: decades. We learned quickly. The elderly take chair seven, live full lives while their number's called. Young people scramble for chair one. I chose chair four by accident: time moves sideways here. I'm waiting and have already been called. Both. Forever.
